25 weeks full-time. Quit your job. Spend a year getting there. Or do it in 7 courses, keep working, and walk out cutting real clients.
AM or PM schedule Monday to Friday. You don't have to quit your job, pull your kids from daycare, or blow your savings before you earn a dollar as a barber.
Not mannequins. Not classmates. Real people paying for real haircuts. You'll have 22 sessions of hands-on work before you ever touch a stranger's head.
You earn a recognized barbering certificate at the end. The kind that opens doors to booth rental, employment, or your own chair — not just a piece of paper.
Same trade. Half the time.
First class. May 4.
We're running our first Beginner class starting May 4. Seven courses at 19573 Fraser Hwy, Surrey, BC. Real clients. A barbering certificate you can use the day you finish.
Beginner program — week by week
Seven courses. Three sessions per week. Four hours each. By the end you're cutting real clients start to finish under 45 minutes.
What most schools skip
Technical skill gets you hired. Everything else keeps clients coming back and puts money in your pocket. We teach what the industry actually runs on.
How to shoot your work, build a following, and turn your chair into a booking machine. Instagram and TikTok — built into the program, not an afterthought.
Kids are different. Shorter attention spans, first-haircut nerves, different body language. You'll learn how to become the barber every parent requests by name.
How to create a calm environment and adapt for clients who experience sensory sensitivities. A skillset most barbers don't have — and clients remember for life.
Reading what a client actually wants vs. what they say. Managing expectations, upselling naturally, and handling the client who walks in with someone else's photo.
How to move, communicate, and carry yourself in a working shop. The unwritten rules that determine whether you get a chair offer or get passed over.
Pricing, repeat clients, referrals, and the habits that separate a fully booked barber from one always looking for walk-ins. Your name is your business.
What's included
Other schools sell you an education and charge you extra for everything else. This is everything you need, day one, included.
Lead Instructor
10+ Years · Lead Instructor · Willowbrook
Most barber schools pull instructors who stopped cutting five years ago. Alex still works behind the chair. He competes, he teaches, he has 100,000+ people watching his technique on YouTube. When you ask him why something works, he shows you — not from a textbook, from memory.
After you graduate
3 working shops.
Direct referrals. Not a cold job hunt.
Uppercuts runs three active barbershops across the Lower Mainland. Graduates get personal introductions into Uppercuts locations and partner shops — so you go from certificate in hand to chair offer, not LinkedIn applications.
