25 weeks full-time. Quit your job. Spend a year getting there. Or do it in 7 courses, keep working, and finish with a full week of supervised practicum.
AM or PM schedule Monday to Friday. You don't have to quit your job, pull your kids from daycare, or blow your savings before you earn a dollar as a barber.
Not mannequins. Not classmates. Real heads on a working shop floor under instructor supervision. You'll have 22 sessions of hands-on work before you get there.
You earn a recognized barbering certificate at the end. The kind that opens doors to booth rental, employment, or your own chair — not just a piece of paper.
Same trade. Half the time.
First class. May 18.
We're running our first Beginner class starting May 18. Seven courses at 19573 Fraser Hwy, Surrey, BC. Full week of practicum. A barbering certificate you can use the day you finish.
$1,000 off the regular tuition for the first 10 founding members of the May 18 cohort.
Beginner program — week by week
Seven courses. Three sessions per week. Four hours each. By the end you're running a full service start to finish under 45 minutes.
What most schools skip
Technical skill gets you hired. Everything else keeps clients coming back and puts money in your pocket. We teach what the industry actually runs on.
How to shoot your work, build a following, and turn your chair into a booking machine. Instagram and TikTok — built into the program, not an afterthought.
Kids are different. Shorter attention spans, first-haircut nerves, different body language. You'll learn how to become the barber every parent requests by name.
How to create a calm environment and adapt for clients who experience sensory sensitivities. A skillset most barbers don't have — and clients remember for life.
Reading what a client actually wants vs. what they say. Managing expectations, upselling naturally, and handling the client who walks in with someone else's photo.
How to move, communicate, and carry yourself in a working shop. The unwritten rules that determine whether you get a chair offer or get passed over.
Pricing, repeat clients, referrals, and the habits that separate a fully booked barber from one always looking for walk-ins. Your name is your business.
What's included
Other schools sell you an education and charge you extra for everything else. This is everything you need, day one, included.
$3,800 is founding-class pricing. Future classes are $4,800. We want the first 10 students walking in talking — and that's worth $1,000 to us.
Lead Instructor
10+ Years · Lead Instructor · Willowbrook
Most barber schools pull instructors who stopped cutting five years ago. Alex still works behind the chair. He competes, he teaches, he has 100,000+ people watching his technique on YouTube. When you ask him why something works, he shows you — not from a textbook, from memory.
After you graduate
3 working shops.
Direct referrals. Not a cold job hunt.
Uppercuts runs three active barbershops across the Lower Mainland. Graduates get personal introductions into Uppercuts locations and partner shops — so you go from certificate in hand to chair offer, not LinkedIn applications.
Placement is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We don't guarantee employment — chair offers depend on shop availability, your performance through the program, and fit with the team.
Common questions
Quick answers to what people ask before getting on a call. If something else is on your mind, text (604) 332-7677.
Yes. The Beginner program is built for people who have never picked up clippers. Course 1 starts at tool fundamentals. By Course 7 you're running a full week of supervised practicum on the floor.
That's the whole point. Pick AM or PM, Monday to Friday. Most students keep their current job — full-time or part-time — through the 7 courses.
88+ hours of in-class teaching, supervised live-client sessions, online module library, BC barbering certificate on completion, and a 1:1 career counselor. Nothing else gets added at the end.
Klarna and Fairstone are external partners — approval depends on your credit. In-house financing may be available depending on your application. The career counselor goes over your payment options on the call so you know what's open to you before you commit.
We call you back inside one business day. The call covers your background, schedule, payment options, and any questions you have. If we're a fit, you sign your enrollment agreement and lock your seat. If we're not, we'll tell you straight.
19+ to enroll. We've trained students in their 40s and 50s. Barbering doesn't care how old you are. It cares whether you show up and put the reps in.
